Op 31 januari zijn vier studenten van de opleiding technicus engineering uit Delft een project gestart met onze projectpartner ISISPACE Group.
ISISPACE Group is gespecialiseerd in het realiseren van innovatieve kleine satellietmissies: van ontwerp, ontwikkeling, productie en testen tot lancering en operaties. Natuurlijk mag niets aan het toeval worden overgelaten en is het essentieel om alle componenten voor de lancering volledig te testen.
Momenteel worden sommige testprocedures voor subsystemen nog handmatig uitgevoerd. Gezien de constante groei van het productievolume is het noodzakelijk om – daar waar het kan – te automatiseren. Onze studenten onderzoeken nu of een van de bestaande testprocedures – in dit geval het handmatig testen van een printplaat – verbeterd en in ieder geval gedeeltelijk geautomatiseerd kan worden door het ontwikkelen van een op maat gemaakte testopstelling en bijbehorende software.
ISISPACE Group hecht veel waarde aan het begeleiden van dit soort projecten en werkt graag samen met het onderwijs aan een betere match tussen de jonge engineers en technici die de school verlaten en de behoeften van hightech werkgevers zoals zijzelf. Daarnaast wil ISISPACE Group studenten een goed beeld geven van de mooie carrièremogelijkheden in de ruimtevaart. Er is immers altijd behoefte aan nieuw technisch talent!
Het project loopt in ieder geval tot eind juni en we houden jullie op de hoogte van de voortgang.
Project with ISISPACE Group: Subsystem Testing Before Satellite Integration!
On January 31, four students of the technical engineering course from Delft started a project with our project partner ISISPACE Group.
ISISPACE Group is specialized in realizing innovative small satellite missions: from design, development, production and testing to launch and operations. Of course, nothing should be left to chance and full testing of all components before launch is essential.
At present, some subsystem test procedures are still performed manually. With the ever-growing production volume, automatization whenever possible is essential. Our students are now investigating whether one of the existing test procedures – in this case the manual testing of a PCB – could be improved and at least partially automized by developing a customized test setup and related software.
ISISPACE Group attaches great importance to guiding these types of projects and is happy to work with education to achieve a better match between the young engineers and technicians leaving school and the needs of high-tech employers such as itself. In addition, ISISPACE Group wants to give students a good idea of the great career opportunities in the space industry. After all, there is always a need for new technical talent!
